Red Pine, sometimes referred to as Norway Pine, is the state tree of Minnesota. Red Pine is a tall and straight growing variety of pine that grows native to the northern regions of Minnesota. The bark will get a darkish red appearance as it matures and will produce cones that are around 2″ long. Red Pines do best in well drained soil conditions with full sun.
